The Design
The Boy Bag does not need any introduction – it’s the brand’s most iconic bag just like the Classic Flap Bag. The Boy Chanel Handle Bag is somewhat unique because, as its name says, it has an extra oversized handle. The original Boy Bag does not have this handle.
The handle offers a new way of carrying. You can ignore the shoulder chain and tote it downtown. Or you can use the bold and boyish chain to carry on your shoulder. The handle is also embellished with woven leather chain to maximize its charisma. The chains are usually in gold hardware and they shine like gold.
The rest of the design is similar to the original Boy bag – the center is quilted and it comes with the iconic studded CC boy logo. However, around the edges of the flap, the woven chain leather design continues. This chain design reminds me of the chain around handbags, but it’s done more organized.

The Chanel Boy Chain Handle Bag from the Pre-Fall 2015 Collection and the re-release of this bag for the Fall Winter 2017 Collection are slightly different. In fact, it has been improved a lot. If you compare them side-by-side, the first thing you will notice is the smaller but chic’er diamond quilting on the newest version. The solid colors also look more timeless and practical. The handles are taller and bigger.
Now should you wait for the next release? Well, no! Because the latest version already looks gorgeous and you will never know when the next release will be. Perhaps this bag will be discontinued in the future.
The Interior
The interior hasn’t changed much from the original Boy Bag. Inside you will find one large main compartment to store everything you need. And there is also a patch pocket. I actually love this kind of settings because it maximizes the size of the interior.

I bought this bag in navy blue in July, love the bag but sometimes I wonder about the handle. As described above, the bag is beautiful and light, however, the handle sometimes just “lays there!” Not that it’s supposed to do something. The leather is absolutely stunnin, and I have to admit that the handle comes in handy when lifting the bag instead of grabbing it like a clutch….dont absolutely love it, maybe with time I will. Lesson learned, wait to buy what I absolutely love.
